Ireland’s Curtis Campher becomes the first bowler to take a double hat-trick in T20 World Cup. During the clash against Netherlands at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi, Campher took four wickets of consecutive deliveries in the 10th over of Netherlands’ innings to get the record in his name.

The Irish pacer got the wickets of Colin Ackerman, veteran Ryan ten Doeschate, Scott Edwards and Reolof van der Merwe to achieve the double hat-trick. Two of these wickets were aided by DRS including the first wicket of Ackerman and hat-trick wicket of Edwards.

The 22-year-old is also the second bowler to take a hat-trick in T20 World Cup. When Brett Lee took the first hat-trick of T20 World Cup in the inaugural edition against Bangladesh, Campher was just an eight-year-old.

Campher is the third bowler to take a double hat-trick in the format after Afghanistan's Rashid Khan and Sri Lanka's Lasith Malinga.

Campher is also the first Ireland bowler to take a hat-trick in the format. He went for 12 runs in his first over but finished with 26 runs and four wickets in his quota of four overs. His four-wicket haul helped Ireland bundled out the Dutch for 106 in 20 overs. For Netherlands, opener Max ODowd scored 51 runs from 47 deliveries.

Chasing 107, Ireland lost two wickets in powerplay overs. While opener Paul Stirling held on to one end, Gareth Delany's 29-ball 4 ensured that the Dutch don't make a comeback. Delany missed his half-century as he got out in the 13th over. Campher contributed with the bat too and deservedly scored the winning runs for Ireland.
