Batting first, the Three Lions got off to a strong start, with openers Tammy Beaumont and Amy Jones taking the team past 50 runs. Despite Beaumont appearing uncomfortable at the crease, the pair built a formidable 73-run opening partnership, leaving the Indian bowlers desperate for a wicket. Deepti Sharma provided that crucial strike in the 16th over. Bowling her first over, she clean-bowled the struggling Beaumont after the batter missed a sweep shot. With that wicket, Deepti clocked a massive feat of taking 150 wickets in Women's ODIs.

This achievement has made Deepti the first Indian and fourth player in the world to secure the rare double of scoring 2,000 runs and taking 150 wickets in Women's ODIs. The 28-year-old star joined Ellyse Perry, Marizanne Kapp, and Stafanie Taylor in the elite list.

Players with double of 2000 runs and 150 WODI wickets:

5873, 155 - Stafanie Taylor (WI-W)
3397, 172 - Marizanne Kapp (SA-W)
2607, 150 - Deepti Sharma (IND-W)

In addition to her all-round milestone, Deepti has also joined legendary pacer Jhulan Goswami in another significant record list for India. By reaching 150 wickets, Deepti is now only the second Indian bowler to have achieved this feat in the ODI format. Goswami currently remains the leading wicket-taker in the history of ODIs, having scalped 255 wickets across 204 matches.
