Millions of Indian cricket fans' hopes shattered with Virat Kohli's dismissal on Day 5 of the World Test Championship (WTC) final against Australia at the Oval. With 280 needed on Day 5 Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane walked in the middle when Rohit's brigade's fate hinged entirely on their shoulders. After losing the top-three batters at 93, it was them who steadied India's boat and took the scoreboard ticking and closed the Day 4's play at 164/3. But just when everyone started thinking that the dazzling duo will comprehensively script India's record chase of 444, Scott Boland jolted India and grabbed Kohli's wicket in the 47th over when the batting juggernaut was just one run away from completing his first half century in the WTC final.

On the third ball of the 46th over, Kohli edged Boland's ripping delivery and Steve Smith, who doesn't anything off Kohli, pulled off a stunning catch at slip.

Kohli returned to pavilion with heavy steps after scoring 49 off 78 riding on seven fours. But it was not all for Australia as Boland struck again to rock India again. On the fifth ball of the same over, Boland's pitched the ball which angled in and found the edge of Ravindra Jadeja's bat as the star all-rounder was sent packing for a golden duck to leave Indian fans stunned.

Earlier in the over, Australian team took a review as they heard something when Boland's sharp delivery passed Kohli's bat. The onfield umpire referred to the TV umpire and the replay displayed a clear gap between the ball and the bat and Pat Cummins' brigade lost the review.

Kohli's dismissal saw KS Bharat walking in the middle when the scoreboard read 179/4.
