In a series of interesting developments, India's star wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant has grabbed attention online after reaching out to Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami through a late-night post on X. The star left-handed batter asked the Chief Minister's assistance in purchasing a piece of land in his native state, revealing that his last attempts were not good enough to secure a suitable property in Uttarakhand.

Rishabh Pant asks for help from Uttarakhand CM

Pant revealed the difficulties he endured while trying to secure land in Uttarakhand, describing the entire process as a "nightmare". The India wicketkeeper-batter also claimed that he was expected to be allotted land in return for promoting the state. Revealing his wish to settle there, Pant said he wants to live closer to his roots.

Despite being born in Uttarakhand, Pant's cricketing journey majorly took shape in Delhi, where he rose through the domestic ranks before becoming an established player in the Indian cricket team. Having  spent a significant part of his career associated with the national capital, the wicketkeeper-batter now wants to reconnect with his culture.

“@pushkardhami hello sir how’s you ??? It’s a long time for me especially being local from Uttrakhand . I have been trying to buy land to shift my base from Delhi to Uttrakhand and I couldn’t find anything facilitating and big to live here I love my Uttrakhand. My humble request to us is please help me in land acquisition cause nowadays it had become nitemare with clarity and even other land is dew which was I supposedly get when I was promoting the state before keeping everything in side I wanna move back to my native place to help and built around Uttrakhand and I want to shif back to my Pahadi people please look into this matter it’s been 3 years didn’t get any land awaiting your answer @pushkardhami sir," Pant wrote.

Notably, Pant was the highest taxpayer from Uttarakhand for the year 2025-26 contributing a massive amount of Rs 23.34 crore.

Now, the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand has responded to the request made by Pant through another post on X, saying that the wicketkeeper-batter is the pride of the state, as he has dropped so many match-winning performances for the country at the biggest stage and has brought glory to the state. The Uttarakhand CM has assured Pant that the concerned authorities have been directed to take necessary action to speed up the process.
