Australia star batter Travis broke his rut in Gabba by smashing his ninth Test century during the third Test match against India. This was his second consecutive ton in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. The southpaw took 115 balls to reach the 100-run mark in Brisbane. This is his second Test century in Gabba and in total, this was Australia's southpaw's third ton against India in the longest format of the game

Head who got out on a golden duck in his past three innings reached his century with a double off India’s premier speedster Jasprit Bumrah. After reaching to his century, he removed his helmet, raised his arms in celebration, and placed the helmet on his bat’s handle, soaking in the applause from the Gabba crowd.

Travis Head is one of the nightmares for Indian bowlers and this is not the first time he has tormented India. Head was one of the major reasons behind Australia's win in the ODI World Cup 2023 final and World Test Championship (WTC) final against India.

Travis Head has played 14 matches against India where he smashed three centuries and five half-centuries(including Test century in Gabba).

Coming back to the match, Bumrah turned out to be for the Australian openers Usman Khawaja and Nathan McSweeney, who have served themselves on a platter to India speedster throughout the ongoing BGT series. Venues changed, but the story remained the same, even at Australia's 'fortress' The Gabba. Soon after the openers, Nitish Kumar Reddy removed Marnus Labuschagne and after that Travis Head and Steven Smith made a partnership of 159 runs to revive the hosts in the third Test match.
