India continued their winning run on Australian soil as they beat Prime Minister's XI at Manuka Oval, Canberra by six wickets in a pink-ball One-Day (46 overs per side) match. After Harshit Rana's four-wicket haul, Shubman Gill scored a half-century in the run chase whereas Yashasvi Jaiswal, Nitish Reddy and Washington Sundar scored in 40s as India got over the line in the 43rd over. The only downside was Rohit Sharma departing for a single-digit score in his first outing on Australian soil in the ongoing tour.Β
Early wickets
Earlier, Rohit won the toss and opted to bowl first at Manuka Oval, Canberra. Mohammed Siraj and Akash Deep struck early with the new ball dismissing Matthew Renshaw and Jayden Goodwin for single-digit scores. After the rain interruption, the game was refused to 46 overs per side.
Rana causes collapse
Konstas and Jack Clayton dominated the proceedings as they hit boundaries. Konstas batted with a more attacking intent. Rana went for plenty before he broke the partnership with the wicket of Clayton who scored 40 runs from 52 balls. He knocked over Oliver Davies with a fuller delivery. Full of condidence in his next over, he bowled short balls at captain Jack Edwards and Sam Harper who were caught in the deep by Prasidh Krishna. The collapse continued as Krishna gor rid of Aidan O Connor. Prime Ministers XI went from 131/3 to 138/7.

Konstas hits ton
Konstas and Hanno Jacobs steadied the ship as India looked to use their spinners. Konstas reached his century from 90 balls. He was dismissed by Deep in the 38th over of the innings. The young opener scored 107 runs from 97 balls including 14 fours and a six. Jacobs went on an onslaught and hit four fours, two sixes in his 60-ball 61. Β Sundar and Ravindra Jadeja got one wicket apiece as Prime Ministers XI was bowled out for 240 from 43.2 overs.
Jaiswal, Rahul impress but Rohit falls early
In the run chase, Jaiswal and KL Rahul were cautious at first and then looked for boundaries. In-form Jaiswal missed his fifty as he lost his wicket to teenager Charlie Anderson. Jaiswal scored 45 runs from 59 balls including nine fours. Rahul got retired out after the 18th over. Skipper Rohit could not do much with the bat and edged one to the slip fielder off Anderson's bowling after scoring just three runs from 11 balls.Β
Gill hits fifty, Reddy attacks
Gill and Reddy were not intimated by young Australian pacers. They shared a 92-run partnership from 76 balls. Reddy missed his fifty as he got bowled by leggie Lloyd Pope. The young all-rounder scored 42 runs from 35 balls including five fours and a six. Meanwhile, Gill reached his fifty and retired out. He scored 50 runs from 62 balls including seven fours.Β
Sundar finishes it off
Washington Sundar and Ravindra Jadeja came out to bat and shared a 37-run partnership. Jadeja scored 27 runs from 31 balls before losing his wicket to Renshaw. Sundar broke free and hit Jack Nisbet for three fours in a row. In the 43rd over, they achieved the target of 241 but continued to bat on unlike a One-Day game. Sarfaraz Khan could not stay in the middle for a few overs and lost his wicket to Clayton. In the end, Sundar and Devdutt Padikkal remained not out as India posted 257/5. Sundar scored 42 runs from 36 balls featuring five fours.
