Rohit, who is going through a form slump, went through a rigorous training session on Sunday, December 22, and was seen doing a unique drill. Rohit was spotted practicing with a baseball bat to refine his batting technique and enhance his performance in the upcoming fourth Test of the Border-Gavaskar series.

Rohit Sharma is going through a lean patch in the series so far, as he has scored just 19 runs across three innings. In the Adelaide Test, which ended in a draw, Rohit scored just 10 runs while in the series opener he notched scores of 6 and 3. The Boxing Day Test between India and Australia, which is set to start from December 26, will tell which way the series is heading. A victory in Melbourne is crucial for India to gain an advantage in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and stay afloat in World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-2025 final race.

Given his role as the Indian captain Rohit will look to rediscover his form in the remainder of the series. He is acutely aware that he needs to find his rhythm and contribute to the team's success.

Also, during the training session, Rohit was observed clutching an ice pack to his knee, raising concerns about a potential injury. However, despite this minor setback, it is clear that Rohit is fully committed to overcoming any physical challenges and performing at his peak.

2024 hasn't been easy for Rohit as across 13 innings, he has only managed to score 153 runs.

However, former India's head coach Ravi Shastri has an advice for Rohit to come out of this lean patch.

“I think he's got to be very clear in his mindset to go out there and take the attack to the opposition and not worry about anything else. The last thing you want is him to be in two minds whether to defend or attack. In his case, it should be attacking," Ravi Shastri said in the latest episode of ICC Review.
