India batting coach Sitanshu Kotak intervened as the verbal spat escalated.

India head coach Gautam Gambhir was involved in a heated exchange with the pitch curator at the Kennington Oval, London on July 29. The incident took place during India's optional training stadium ahead of the fifth and final Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025.

"You are just a groundsman here. You are not going to tell us what we need to do," Gambhir was heard telling pitch curator Lee Fortis.

As the verbal spat escalated, India batting coach Sitanshu Kotak intervened.

Earlier, the Indian team attended an event at the Indian High Commission. He lauded the Indian team for how they have performed on the England tour so far.

“Last five weeks have been really exciting for both countries with the kind of cricket that has been on display, which I’m sure has made every cricket lover proud,” Gambhir said.

Ahead of the fifth Test, Gambhir said that both teams have not given another one inch. He wants the Shubman Gill-led side to win the second Test and make the country proud.

“Both the teams have thrown a lot of punches and have fought for every inch. We have got one more week to go, one final push to make and one more opportunity to make our country and people out here proud,” said Gambhir.
