India veteran all-rounder Shardul Thakur, who is part of the Shubman Gill-led squad for the upcoming Test series against England, has reportedly played an unbeaten 122-run knock during the team's intra-squad clash in Beckenham on Saturday.
As per the Indian Express, Shardul Thakur played an unbeaten 122-run knock during the team's intra-squad practice session.
India are currently playing an intra-squad clash against India A to get familiar with the conditions ahead of the upcoming five-Test match series, which will start from June 20.
The veteran fast-bowling all-rounder was out of India's Test setup as he played his last clash in 2023 against South Africa. Shardul missed his spot from the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in 2024-25, where Australia defeated India 3-1 to seal their spot in the World Test Championship Final. Nitish Kumar Reddy was India's fast bowling all-rounder in Australia, where he smashed a century at the iconic Gabba Stadium in Australia.

Shardul Thakur has played 11 Test matches for India, where he picked up 31 wickets, including a five-wicket haul. He also scored 331 runs in his 18 innings with a high score of 67.
Earlier, Mumbai batter Sarfaraz Khan flexed his form in England with a century for India A against the Shubman Gill-led side on Day 2 of the intra-squad match. Sarfaraz smashed his century in 76 balls and on the other hand, legendary speedster Jasprit Bumrah has had a forgettable outing as he was wicketless in his seven-over spell.
However, it's not yet clear whether Shardul will make it to India's playing XI for the first Test match against England on Shubman Gill will go with Nitish Kumar Reddy as a fast bowling all-rounder.
