Rajasthan Royals (RR) batter Riyan Parag is currently in the form of his life. He scored 573 runs in 15 matches with a highest score of unbeaten 84 in the recently-concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. He finished this IPL season as the third-highest run-getter.
RR were dominating in the beginning of the season. But they lost four consecutive matches and their one match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) washed out, which forced them to face Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the playoffs. They lost the knockout clash against SRH and their dream of winning the second IPL title vanished.

Riyan Parag's imagination for Six Sixes
However, Parag imagined his franchise playing the final against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) where he smashed six consecutive sixes off KKR star speedster Mitchell Starc.
"I have visualised the craziest of things. We were two games away from the playoffs, and I had already imagined hitting Starc for six sixes in the final of the IPL. We need 36 runs, and I am hitting Starc for six sixes. In my room, I padded up, hitting those shots.
So when I am there, it's nothing new for me. So that gives me a lot of satisfaction and clarity because you are winning those games back in the room," said Parag on Ranveer Allahbadia's Beer Biceps Youtube channel.
Riyan Parag on T20 World Cup 2024
Earlier, he said he wouldn't actively watch the matches and would only check the winner later. Moreover, his message to Team India solely offered good luck, lacking the usual enthusiasm from a player invested in the national team's success.
"It would be a very biased answer, but to be very honest, I don't even want to watch the World Cup. I will just see who is winning it at the end and I will be happy. When I will play the World Cup, then I will think about the top 4 and all of that," Parag told the Bharat Army.
