The Indian Premiere League (IPL) has become the biggest talent hub for Indian cricket since its inception. The IPL has paved the way for several budding Indian cricketers to make an impression and spiraled them to the Indian national team. Indian cricket stars like Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav, Arshdeep Singh, and Rinku Singh among others all became a household name through IPL before going on to make their India debuts. The upcoming season of the IPL is bound to throw some more names into the limelight.

Let’s take a look at five uncapped lesser-known young players who can make an impact in the upcoming season of IPL.

Sameer Rizvi (CSK)

Defending champions Chennai Super Kings bought Sameer Rizvi for an eye-opening amount of Rs 8.4 crore. Sameer Rizvi hails from Meerut, UP, and is known for his destructive power-hitting ability. He usually bats in the middle order.

Recently, he showcased his talent by smashing a triple century in the Colonel CK Nayudu Trophy for his state Uttar Pradesh. He scored 312 runs in 266 balls. He was the top run-getter in the UP T20 league with 455 runs in 10 matches at an average of 50 and a strike rate of more than 188.

Kumar Kushagra (DC)

Kumar Kushagra was sold to DC for a whopping amount of Rs 7.2 crore. Kumar Kushagra, who is 17 years old, is a wicket-keeper batter from Jharkhand.

He is the youngest to score 250 or more in the Ranji Trophy. In 2022, he hammered 266 runs knock in the quarter-final against Nagaland. He also scored 227 runs in five innings in the Deodhar Trophy 2023. DC has gone for the backup wicket-keeping option.

Shubham Dubey (RR)

Shubham Dubey, a hard-hitting lower-order batter will represent Rajasthan Royals. The Royals acquired him for Rs 5.8 crore.

In 2023, playing for Vidarbha in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Shubham scored 221 runs with a strike rate of 190. He was also the highest run-getter from the Vidrabha. He is known for the big hits against fast bowlers.

Arshin Kulkarni (LSG)

Arshin Kulkarni was part of the Indian U-19 team that lost the final against Australia in 2024. He was bought by the Lucknow Super Giants on the base price of INR 20 Lakh.

He has scored a hundred in the Maharashtra Premier League and last year he made his debut for the Maharashtra senior team in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

Swastik Chikara (DC)

Swatik Chikara was acquired by Delhi Capitals for a base price of INR 20 lakh. The 18-year-old came into the limelight when in the UP T20 league, he was the second-highest run-scorer with 494 runs and smashing three centuries in ten innings at a strike rate of 173. Last year, he made his debut for Uttar Pradesh in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
