Arjun Tendulkar made his first appearance in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 for Mumbai Indians (MI) in the clash against Lucknow Super Giants on May 17, Friday. Arjun Tendulkar stepped in for the injured Jasprit Bumrah in MI's final match of the season at Wankhede Stadium. His inclusion sparked excitement on social media, and he further impressed everyone with a stellar first over against Marcus Stoinis where he conceded just three runs.
However, Tendulkar's final delivery of the over caused a stir. After bowling four dot balls to Marcus Stoinis, including a close LBW call, Arjun picked up the ball on the last delivery and made a gesture towards the wicket, seemingly threatening a run-out. This didn't go down well with Stoinis, who visibly expressed his displeasure to the young bowler and was seen mocking him. Arjun, however, remained composed and smiled in response.

Later, Piyush Chawla trapped Stoinis on last ball of the sixth over to leave LSG reeling at 49/2. Later LSG ended up posting a big total of 215 runs which MI failed to chase and suffered a defeat in their last game by 18 runs.
Notably, Arjun Tendulkar debuted for Mumbai Indians last year, taking three wickets in four matches and earning the respect of veterans. However, he didn't play in the latter half of their disappointing 2023 season and sat out the first 13 games this year.

“Chasing is better in Wankhede. It comes on nicer in the evening. It’s always about playing for the badge, playing for pride – all those words are important in the group. We know where we stand. But ending the season playing good cricket will always be appreciated. It gives us more freedom maybe to go out there and express ourselves,” Hardik said after the toss.
