Highlights:

Ravi Bishnoi pulled off an excellent caught and bowled to dismiss Kane Williamson.

Kiwi batter Williamson departed for a single-digit score.

The run chase at Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow came to a halt as Lucknow Super Giants’ (LSG) Ravi Bishnoi took a one-handed screamer to dismiss Gujarat Titans’ (GT) Kane Williamson. Bishnoi timed the jump to perfection on follow-through and stuck his hand out to catch hold of the ball to leave everyone stunned.

In the ninth over of GT’s run chase, LSG skipper KL Rahul introduced Bishnoi against Williamson who was new to the crease. On the first delivery, he pushed it back to the bowler. Next ball, he tried to play it towards mid-on but ended up chipping it. Bishnoi jumped to his right and plucked the ball out of thin air. He managed to have control when he fell on the pitch as well.

Williamson who was GT's impact player departed after scoring just one run from five balls. GT lost two wickets for 56 runs in 7.2 overs.

Williamson is in the side after David Miller got injured. He played his first match of the season against Punjab Kings (PBKS). He scored 26 runs from 22 balls.

Miller is expected to be out of action for a few more matches. In his absence, Williamson has failed to make a mark so far. GT had to make a few changes in their batting order to have the Kiwi batter at no.3 as well.

Bishnoi was effective in the middle overs. He bowled two overs as Rahul did not want him to go up against left-handed batter Rahul Tewatia. He conceded eight runs from two overs and got Williamson's wicket.

Left-arm spinner Krunal Pandya was lethal in the middle overs too and bagged three wickets. Later, Yash Thakur capitalised on the opportunity to bowl in the slog overs. He bagged his maiden five-wicket haul to break the back of GT batting lineup. LSG beat GT by 33 runs. This is their first win over IPL 2023 champions.
