Former Mumbai Indians (MI) captain Rohit Sharma is known for his witty comments on the field during live matches. There have been numerous occasions when Rohit's hilarious comments have been caught on the stump mic, providing plenty of opportunities for fans to laugh about. During MI's Indian Premier League (IPL) match against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on April 11 (Thursday), Rohit was at his witty best and the Hitman provided yet another hilarious moment.
Rohit Sharma amps up Dinesh Karthik
RCB's wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik played a momentum-changing knock against the Mumbai Indians on Thursday. The veteran right-handed batter remained unbeaten on 53 runs off 23 balls with the help of five fours and four sixes. It was because of Karthik's pyrotechnics that the RCB posted a challenging score of 196/8 in 20 overs.
During Karthik's innings, Rohit Sharma was heard on the stump mic saying 'Dinesh acha khel raha, World Cup khelna hai (Dinesh you are playing well, you have to play World Cup). Rohit was standing at slip and commented with a brimming smile on his face. MI's wicket-keeper Ishan Kishan couldn't help but laugh.

Karthik's superb display in IPL 2022
In the IPL 2022 season, Dinesh Karthik made significant contributions with the bat, scoring a total of 330 runs in 16 matches at an average of 55 and a strike rate of 183.33. Notably, Karthik finished not out in 10 of these innings, showcasing his ability to steer his team to strong finishes. His impressive performance earned him a spot in the Indian team for the T20 World Cup 2022, a selection seen as a reward for his batting achievements in the cash-rich tournament.
However, Karthik's performance in the T20 World Cup held in Australia did not meet expectations. He was given the opportunity to bat in four matches, managing to score just 1 run against Pakistan, did not bat against the Netherlands, and scored 6 runs against South Africa and only 7 runs against Bangladesh.Â
