Pat Cummins-led Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and elected to bat first against Sanju Samson's Rajasthan Royals in match 50 of the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, on May 2 (Thursday). The game is crucial for SRH to reenter the top four in the points table and on the other hand, RR can ensure their qualification into the playoffs with a win here. Marco Jansen comes in place of Aiden Markram for SRH.

"We are gonna have a bat. The games we have won, we batted first. That's probably our strength. Looks like a good wicket," said Cummins after winning the toss.
"We also wanted to bat looking at the conditions. It does suit the team, we have done both well this season. The momentum is the key in this tournament. Lot of things have been working well. To recognise what is working well, we just want to stick with that," said Samson.
