There seems to be no end to Delhi Capitals' (DC) woes. While the franchise is struggling immensely on the ground, they are now involved in a bizarre incident off the field. According to a report in The Indian Express, several equipment belonging to DC players were stolen in transit when the team arrived in Delhi from Bengaluru on Sunday after the playing a match at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. A total of 16 bats, gloves, pads and thigh pads went missing, leaving the franchise in a state of shock.

It is being reported that among the bats stolen, three belonged to franchise captain David Warner, five belonged to Yash Dhull, two belonged to Mitchell Marsh and three belonged to Phil Salt.

The bizarre incident came to light when the players received their equipment bags. The franchise sprung into action and immediately lodged a complaint.

"All of them were shocked when they heard that everyone had lost something or the other from their kit bags. This is the first time such an incident has happened and the matter was soon raised to the logistics department, police and later at the airport. The investigation is on," The Indian Express quoted a DC source as saying.

The franchise struggled to carry out a full-fledged training session as multiple players were without their necessary equipment. DC's next game is against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and a few players have already reached out to their agents and bat companies in order to acquire a fresh supply of equipment.

Meanwhile, the Delhi-based franchise is still searching for its first win of the season. David Warner's men have played five matches in the cash-rich tournament this season so far and failed even to secure a single victory.
