Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will look to end their trophy drought in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. RCB, who are known for their massive fan base, are a highly regarded IPL team. It won't be an exaggeration to say RCB have emerged as one of the most consistent teams in the IPL in the past few years. Since the start of this decade, RCB is the only team to qualify for the playoffs every single time. They were knocked out in the eliminator in 2020 and 2021. RCB lost out to Rajasthan in the second qualifier in 2022. They are one of the initial three teams who are yet to win the IPL. RCB will be hoping to break the jinx in 2023.

RCB's strength

This year, the Challengers would have high hopes to make it to the playoffs and probably go on to win the title, and the major contributor would be the in-form batter Virat Kohli, who has been in prolific form since the ICC T20 World Cup. Kohli, through his heroic antics, has won many matches for RCB and would be looking to do the same this year too. The other inclusions who can serve as formidable performers include big-bid Hasaranga and this year’s pick, Reece Topley, both of whom can turn out to be the best bowling pair for RCB this year. Another huge advantage for RCB this year is Siraj’s masterclass form in India. Siraj has proven his amazing talent with the new ball in hand and can pick wickets till the shine is gone. The team is also studded with multi-dimensional and domestic gems. They have Mahipal Lomror who can give a bit of spin, they have the international prowess of Glenn Maxwell, and they also have Shahbaz Ahmed who is at the peak of his career. RCB also boast of one of the best fielding units in the IPL fold which have Glenn Maxwell, Virat Kohli, and Faf Du Plessis who are amongst the gun fielders in the unit.

Meanwhile, RCB will open their campaign against five-time champions Mumbai Indians on April 2.
