It was a perfect union of two 'Kings' when Bollywood megastar met batting juggernaut Virat Kohli after Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) thrashed Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023's clash at the Eden Gardens stadium on Thursday (April 6).
Amid a more than lively uproarious Kolkata crowd Shah Rukh Khan registered his presence at the iconic Eden Gardens stadium to cheer for KKR. KKR's co-owner's presence in the stadium doubled up the fans' excitement who welcomed their favourite Bollywood star with a high decibel encore. This is the first time in four years that KKR are playing in front of their home fans in Kolkata and Pathaan-movie star Shah Rukh Khan's presence only made it special for the former champions.
Meanwhile, right after KKR clinched a thumping 81-run victory over Faf Du Plessis' men, Shah Rukh Khan met players of both the teams on the field. SRK also met Kohli and gave him a tight hug as it was a perfect spectacle to watch the union of two maestros. Kohli asked the badshah of bollywood to teach him the hook steps of ‘Jhoome Jo Pathaan’. SRK didn't waste any time to teach the famous move to the star batter which left the internet buzzing.

Talking about the match, Shardul Thakur proved his all-round prowess yet again as he hammered his maiden T20 half-century and snared a wicket to help KKR earn an emphatic 81-run win over RCB. Asked to bat, KKR relied on magnificent fifties from two traded players, Afghan opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Shardul, to enable KKR post a formidable 204 for seven. The host benefitted from the magic of its spinners, Sunil Narine, Varun Chakravarthy, who captured four wickets, and debutant impact player Suyash Sharma, to bundle out RCB for 123.
