It was yet another excellent performance from Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) stalwart Virat Kohli, who broke multiple records with his century against the Gujarat Titans (GT) at the M Chinnasway stadium in Bangalore on Sunday, May 21. And the player who now has the most Indian Premier League (IPL) centuries answered his critics in the best possible way that he could during his innings break interview.

"Lot of people think that my T20 cricket is declining, I don't think so," Kohli said after hitting his seventh century of the tournament, and second consecutive one as RCB fight for the final playoff spot. He carried the bat with his excellent unbeaten 101 off 61 balls as RCB set a tough target of 197 for the table toppers to chase down.

He was content with the final total and believes his team's bowlers have the ability to defend this score. "We would have taken that with both hands once we were five wickets down. We pretty much pulled things back towards the end. Close to 200 is a winnable score for me. It's upon the bowlers to execute," said the former India skipper.

'The King' rode on a brilliant 101 off 61 to edge past his former teammate Chris Gayle's previous record of most IPL centuries. Gayle has six while the RCB opener now has seven to his name.

He was left pleased with his own performance on the night and feels confident with his batting. "I felt great. I look to hit gaps and then the big ones towards the end. You have to read situations and rise up to the situations. I feel really good with my game at the moment. Spin wasn't easy to get away. There's enough on this pitch for our bowlers. What matters is to stay in the present. I wasn't focusing on the rain, focused on what I need to do for the team," said the 34-year-old.
