Former Pakistan pacer, Mohammad Amir has taken a sly dig at the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman, Ramiz Raja, who previously stated that he does not receive any compensation for managing Pakistan cricket.
“I have come to this cricket board without any salary. I won’t get a single penny for the next three years. I have sacrificed my ongoing career to take up this post. The car that I own is a 2008 model one. I don’t regret the fact that I don’t own a big house or a fancy car or money. Many a time, you need to play an innings for the honour,” Raja had said while addressing club presidents.
In reply to that Amir took a dig at Raja, saying that despite not being paid on paper, he is aware of all the privileges he receives as chairman of the PCB.
“To the extent I know, PCB Chairman is not paid a monthly salary but gets a lot of benefits. I may be wrong, but this is what I have heard,” the left-arm pacer tweeted.
Meanwhile, Raja is yet to respond to Amir’s tweet. The 59-year-old had previously criticised Amir's participation in the 2016 squad, claiming that he was a fixer and that he didn't want Amir to be a member of Pakistan's squad because of his past fixing allegations.
However, Amir returned to the Pakistan national cricket squad in 2016 and played until 2020 before announcing his official retirement owing to disagreements with the Board of Directors and support personnel.
