Virat Kohli has been in good form heading into the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). The 34-year-old star batter has smashed three half-centuries in the four matches that he has played in the IPL this season, totalling 214 runs in four innings. This puts him on no. 4 in the Orange Cap list, below Venkatesh Iyer, Shikhar Dhawan and David Warner respectively.
On Saturday, the former captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore hit 50 runs off 34 balls against the Delhi Capitals (DC). The RCB opener achieves this feat at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium to help Bengaluru secured an impressive 23-run victory. This ended their two-match losing streak and brought them back into the competition.

Good return after poor IPL 2022 for Virat Kohli
Kohli had a poor IPL 2022 but has come back in style. He became the first batter to score 2,500 runs at a single venue, M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, while hitting his half-century against DC, and also became the player with the most runs (999) against DC in T20s.
Also, with three catches he surpassed Rohit's tally of catches in the IPL. Kohli is third on the list of most catches by a fielder in the IPL. Only former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) batter Suresh Raina and former MI all-rounder Kieron Pollard (103) have more catches.
“It was a tricky one. When it went up in the air, I made sure there was no one close to me. I made sure I grabbed it solidly,” Kohli said about Mitchell Marsh’s catch inside the circle after winning the ‘Player of the match’ award.
“I was quite disappointed that I got out to a full toss. I've been playing really well. I wanted to make sure that after fifty, I was targetting 30-35 runs off the next 10 balls. That's how I play. That would've helped us get past 200,” Kohli added.
