Shreyas Iyer hits a unique IPL century as captain, enters MS Dhoni and David Warner's list

Shreyas Iyer-led Punjab Kings (PBKS) beat Mumbai Indians (MI) by seven wickets on May 27. PBKS booked a spot in Qualifier 1. While Iyer is achieving new feats on the go, he has entered the list of destructive IPL captains as well. Iyer has become the sixth batter to hit 100 or more sixes as IPL captain -

1. The first spot belongs to Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni. The legendary skipper has hit 223 sixes from 235 games as captain. He led now-defunct Rising Pune Supergiants as well.
 

2. Former Royal Challengers Bengaluru captain Virat Kohli is in the second spot with 168 sixes from 143 games. Kohli took over RCB captaincy in 2013. He stepped down as captain after 2021. 
 

3. Mumbai Indians' five-time IPL-winning captain Rohit Sharma is not too far behind. Rohit has hit 158 sixes from as many games as captain. He last captained MI in the 2023 edition. 
 

4. Former Australia opener David Warner is the only overseas player on the list. Warner has hit 109 sixes from 83 games as captain. He has led Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
 

5. KL Rahul has captained in just 64 games but has managed to hit 105 sixes. He has led Punjab Kings and Lucknow Super Giants. His last appearance as captain in IPL was in the previous edition.
 

6. Shreyas Iyer is the latest entrant on the list. He has hit 101 sixes from 84 games. The Punjab Kings captain has led Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders.
