Rajasthan Royals speedster Sandeep Sharma who is missing the ongoing clash against Mumbai Indians at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, has been ruled out of the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.
Sandeep got a fracture in his finger during their last outing against the Gujarat Titans (GT) at the same venue. Despite injury, the speedster bowled his full quota of overs. Rajasthan Royals shared an official statement regarding the pacer's injury.
"Sandeep Sharma has been ruled out for the rest of the season after suffering a fracture in his finger. He showed immense bravery to continue bowling with this injury in the last match and everyone at the franchise wishes him a full and speedy recovery," a statement from RR read.
Sandeep has played 10 IPL matches in the ongoing edition and picked up nine wickets. It total he played 137 IPL matches and got 146 scalps. RR stand in captain Riyan Parag also addressed Sandeep's injury after the toss against Mumbai Indians.
"Three games ago, the message was we take it one game at a time. If we play to our potential, we know how good we can be. Just want to give everyone the freedom to play their game. Couple of changes, Hasaranga has a niggle, Kumar Kartikeya comes in, Sandy (Sandeep Sharma) bhai has broken his finger so Madhwal comes in" said Parag during toss.
Coming back to the clash, RR captain won the toss and opted to bowl against MI in their 11th clash of the tournament at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
