Struggling Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will lock horns against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) for their ninth clash of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, which is scheduled to take place at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. CSK are coming into the game after suffering a nine-wicket defeat against the Mumbai Indians (MI). The five-time champions failed to get a good start in IPL 2025, they managed to win just two matches in their eight outings of the tournament.
CSK faced a major blow as their captain, Ruturaj Gaikwad injured mid-season and he has been ruled out of the tournament. CSK started their campaign with a four-wicket win against MI but failed to continue the momentum, losing five consecutive matches. They are currently tenth in the points table tally.
On the other hand, SRH are coming into this game after losing back-to-back matches against MI (both home and away). The Pat Cummins-led side also started their campaign with a win against the Rajasthan Royals (RR). However, their aggressive template backfired big time as batters failed to put up consistent performances.
The upcoming clash is important for both CSK and SRH to stay in the race for the playoffs of the 18th edition of the IPL.
