The excitement surrounding the current IPL season is palpable, with enthusiastic fans flocking to stadiums in large numbers to cheer on their interesting teams. So far, four different venues have had the privilege of hosting matches this season, and each of these games has been played in front of packed stands.
While the passionate supporters are undoubtedly the ones who generate the electrifying atmosphere within the stadiums, there are unfortunately instances where things can take a negative turn. Recently, a video circulating online captured an unfortunate incident at the Barsapara Stadium, where a physical altercation broke out among fans, reportedly involving supporters of the Rajasthan Royals (RR) and the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
Fans can be seen landing blows at each other at the stands. While the exact cause of the brawl remains unclear, as does whether it was solely between RR fans or involved both RR and KKR supporters, security personnel promptly intervened to halt the fighting.
Brawls erupt among fans during IPL 2025 match
It all happened when Dhruv Jurel and Shimron Hetmyer were at the crease after RR lost early wickets. It was the same match, when a fan breached the security to meet and touch his idol Riyan Parag's feet.
Talking about the match, KKR defeated RR by eight wickets at Guwahati's Barsapara Cricket Stadium. This win marked KKR's first points of the IPL 2025 season. Quinton de Kock, delivered a stunning performance, carrying his bat through the innings to score an unbeaten 97 off 61 balls. He sealed the win in the 18th over with a six off the bowling of Jofra Archer, unfortunately spoiling Riyan Parag's hopes for a triumphant return to play in his home state.
