Mumbai Indians' captain Hardik Pandya (R) speaks with teammates Suryakumar Yadav (L) and Rohit Sharma as they warm up before the start of the IPL match against Punjab Kings at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on May 26, 2025.

Story Highlights:

Suryakumar Yadav is set to join Mumbai Indians camp shortly.

Hardik Pandya is set to undergo another fitness test.

In a huge boost for Mumbai Indians (MI), Suryakumar Yadav is available for selection for their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in Raipur on May 10. Suryakumar did not travel with the squad to Raipur as he and his wife welcomed their baby girl.

Earlier, there was a doubt over whether he will play against RCB but as per Cricbuzz, he will reach Raipur on the eve of the clash.

Will Pandya play vs RCB?

Meanwhile, it is not confirmed whether Hardik Pandya will lead the side after missing the previous game due to back spasm. Suryakumar led MI against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Pandya's absence.

Pandya faces a race against time to regain fitness. The report further states that Pandya underwent a fitness test on May 8. He will undergo fitness test again on May 9. A call on his availability may be taken closer to the game, like MI did with Rohit Sharma’s return to the LSG match.

Another must-win game for MI

MI go up against RCB in another must-win game. MI are mathematically still alive in the playoffs race despite five teams with six or more wins in the season. MI need to win their remaining four games and that too by a big margin. If it comes down to teams with seven wins fighting for the playoffs spot, MI may qualify on the basis of net run rate (NRR).

What happened in previous RCB vs MI clash?

Pandya-led bowling lineup was taken to the cleaners. Phil Salt, Virat Kohli and skipper Rajat Patidar scored fifties as RCB posted 240/4 at Wankhede Stadium. In the run chase, opener Rohit got retired out after suffering a hamstring injury. MI could not keep up with the required rate. In the end, Sherfane Rutherford's nine sixes in unbeaten 31-ball 71 took MI close to the target but yet far from it. MI posted 222/5 and lost by 18 runs.
