Virender Sehwag wants CSK to finish last in the standings in the ongoing IPL 2025

CSK have lost seven matches out of nine in the IPL 2025

Former India's legendary opener Virender Sehwag has once again taken aim at MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings, who are having a disastrous campaign in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.

Chennai Super Kings find themselves at the bottom of the IPL 2025 points table, having secured only two wins in their nine matches played thus far. This disappointing run of form not only tarnishes their established legacy within the IPL but also opens the door for critics to target them with insults and online mockery. The ongoing IPL 2025 season is shaping up to be arguably their worst performance in the tournament's history. With their chances of reaching the playoffs already extinguished, the current trajectory suggests a strong possibility of CSK finishing the season at the very bottom of the league standings.

Adding to the team's difficulties, Sehwag has publicly expressed his wish for CSK to conclude the IPL 2025 as the lowest-ranked team.

Sehwag bursts into laughter when asked about whether it's all over for CSK as, during a conversation with Cricbuzz, he said:

“Tere muh mein ghee shakkar"

The former Indian opener voiced his preference for teams like the Delhi Capitals, Punjab Kings, or even the Royal Challengers Bengaluru to lift the trophy this season, stating that he would be genuinely pleased to see any of these sides emerge victorious. Moreover, he offered a perspective on CSK's current plight.

Sehwag suggested that even if CSK were to finish at the very bottom of the IPL 2025 standings, it should not be viewed as a catastrophic outcome. He pointed to their remarkable consistency over the years, highlighting their record-breaking ten appearances in the IPL finals as a testament to their enduring success.

“If Delhi, Punjab, or even RCB wins, tere muh mein ghee shakkar. I can't say whether Chennai will finish last or not, but even if they do, it will be great. Because they know what it feels like to be number 10. They have played so many finals,” he added.

CSK, whose chances of making it to the IPL 2025 playoffs are almost smoked, will next face Punjab Kings (PBKS) on April 30 at the MA Chidambaram stadium
