Amid immense trolling on social media platforms, Shreyas Iyer's sister, Shresta Iyer has come out and called out all the trollers after Punjab Kings' (PBKS) surprise exit from the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. The trolling took place after PBKS missed the playoff spot by a margin of one point and an old video of Shresta involving the Shreyas Iyer-led side and KKR got viral again for the wrong reasons.

Shresta Iyer blasts online trolling

In a latest video on Instagram, Shresta justified her actions behind the video, saying she never wanted to hurt anyone as it was made only for fun and it has been exaggerated for wrong reasons.

"The video that I had created earlier, you guys exaggerated it to extremes, when the motive of the reel was just a fun banter. I wasn’t trolling anyone, I had no bad intentions behind the banter" said Shrestha.

 

 

Later in the video, Shrestha clarified that she was not trying hate against anyone, as she has immense respect for every cricketer because his brother is also a cricket player.

"I wasn’t spreading hate against anyone. I respect every cricketer because my brother is a cricketer.” added Shrestha.

 

 

Shrestha went on to reveal that the online trolling took a new face of abuse, as people are calling her work place and people connected to her which is causing a lot of trouble.

"I pity you guys. You have been calling my workplace, abusing me, my colleagues, my students and my family," revealed Shresta.

 

 

At the end, Shresta asked everyone they can troll her if they did not liker her actions, but have to stop dragging her family an coworkers into it, as it is not fair.

“If you want to hate me, please continue doing that, but stop harassing people affiliated with me," said Shresta.

 

 

Shreyas Iyer's strong performance in IPL 2026

Shreyas Iyer led PBKS with sheer elegance, before facing a mid-season slump. However, he enjoyed a great campaign with the bat, scoring 498 runs in 14 games at an average of 55.33 with an aggressive strike rate of 168.81.

The PBKS skipper scored four fifty-plus scores and one century. He scored his highest score of an unbeaten 101 in the last league game against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).
