Jos Buttler's unbeaten 97-run knock, followed by a four-wicket haul by Prasidh Krishna, helped Gujarat Titans (GT) to register a comfortable seven-wicket win against Delhi Capitals (DC) at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. GT star Jos Buttler's (97*) and Rutherford's (43) hard-hitting knock helped the Shubman Gill-led side to register their fifth win of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.
Earlier, Gujarat won the toss and decided to bowl first in Ahmedabad. In response, DC failed to get a good start and lost two wickets by the score of 58 runs. In which KL Rahul (28) and Abhishek Porel (18) got out early. After that, Karun Nair scored 31 runs in 18 balls, including two fours and two sixes. Skipper Axar Patel also scored 39 runs in 32 balls, including one four and two sixes. In the end, Ashutosh Sharma scored 37 runs in 19 balls with two fours and three sixes that helped DC score 203 runs for eight wickets. Prasidh Krishna was the pick of the bowlers, picking up four wickets in his four-over spell.
Chasing the target of 204 runs, Gujarat failed to get a good start. Skipper Shubman Gill was run out after scoring seven runs. After this, Jos Buttler took charge and took the innings forward with Sai Sudarshan. Sai scored 36 runs in 21 balls with five fours and one six. But Buttler made the match a bit lighter by playing an innings of 50 runs in 32 balls with three fours and three sixes.
