IPL 2025 retentions: Here's complete list of Indian and overseas players retained by all 10 franchises

All 10 Indian Premier League franchises gave their crucial retention list to the governing body the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) ahead of the upcoming mega auction. Here is the tally of Indian and overseas players who got retained before the mega auction.

All 10 Indian Premier League franchises have submitted their important retention lists to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) ahead of the upcoming mega auction. Here’s a breakdown of the Indian and overseas players who were retained before the auction. 10 franchises have retained 46 players ahead of the auction of the marquee event where 36 are Indian cricketers and 10 are overseas. Sunrisers Hyderabad is the only IPL franchise that retained three overseas cricketers. 

List of foreign cricketers retained by teams

Lucknow Super Giants: The Lucknow-based franchise released their skipper KL Rahul and they retained Nicholas Pooran who is the only overseas cricketer for LSG. The retained Pooran for 21 Crore INR. 

Kolkata Knight Riders: Defending IPL champions KKR also released their skipper Shreyas Iyer and the franchise has retained Andre Russell, and Sunil Narine as overseas options. They retained them for 12 crores respectively. 

Rajasthan Royals: Rajasthan Royals have retained just one overseas cricketer which is Shimron Hetmyer. Hetmyer is retained for 11 crore. 

Punjab Kings: Punjab Kings have not retained any overseas cricketers. 

Gujarat Titans: Gujarat Titans also have not retained any overseas cricketers. 

Sunrisers Hyderabad: SRH retained three overseas players ahead of the mega auction. The last edition's IPL finalist retained Pat Cummins (18 crores), Heinrich Klaasen  (23 crores) and Travis Head (14 crores). 

Delhi Capitals: Delhi Capitals who released their skipper Rishabh Pant have retained South Africa's Tristan Stubbs for (10 crore) INR. 

Royal Challengers Bengaluru: RCB have not retained any foreign cricketer ahead of mega auction. 

Chennai Super Kings: Ruturaj Gaikwad-led CSK have retained just one overseas cricketer which is Matheesha Pathirana (13 crores). 

Mumbai Indians: Five-time IPL champions MI have retained their core players where their no overseas cricketer.
