SRH vs DC Today Match Toss Update: Sunrisers Hyderabad take on Delhi Capitals as Pat Cummins won the toss and elected to bowl first in their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 clash at the Rajiv Gandhi International stadium on May 5, Monday.

What did the captains say after the toss?

After winning the toss, SRH captain Pat Cummins said:

"We'll bowl. We've talked about a few things, haven't had a complete game yet. Want to do the basics well. It's about giving yourself the chance, everyone's a match-winner. We bat very deep. The support has been amazing, probably haven't had the results we wanted but the crowd has been amazing. Buzzing around in the field, that's one thing we can judge ourselves on."

Meanwhile, DC skipper Axar Patel, after losing the toss, said:

"Would've fielded first as well, looks like a good wicket and it shouldn't change much. Will look to get a good score and restrict them. The last phase is here and these are must-win games. We've tried to keep the environment light, we weren't thinking about these things at the start of the tournament and we played well, want to go into these games with the same mindset and not let the situation pressure us. We've had different players contribute, we haven't been dependant on one player. We want to have close games, even if we lose, we don't want to lose by big margins. No changes."

Sunrisers Hyderabad's playing XI

Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan (wk), Sachin Baby, Heinrich Klaasen, Aniket Verma, Abhinav Manohar, Pat Cummins (capt), Harshal Patel, Zeeshan Ansari, Eshan Malinga, Jaydev Unadkat

SRH's Impact subs: Travis Head, Mohammed Shami, Harsh Dubey, Rahul Chahar, Wiaan Mulder

Delhi Capitals' playing XI

Abishek Porel, Faf du Plessis, Karun Nair, KL Rahul (wk), Axar Patel (capt), Tristan Stubbs, Vipraj Nigam, Mitchell Starc, Dushmantha Chameera, Kuldeep Yadav, T Natarajan

DC's Impact subs: Ashutosh Sharma, Mohit Sharma, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Sameer Rizvi, Mukesh Kumar

Pitch report:

"The longest boundary is downtown at 76m and 66m square boundaries either side. It looks really nice, red soil pitch and that means there's a little pace and bounce in it. It can also turn a bit. There is no grass cover at all, it's dry but also nice and hard which means it'll go through nicely. So far on this pitch, SRH scored 190 and LSG chased it down inside 16 overs. The wicket will play nicely, it won't turn that much. Average score has been in excess of 200 on this pitch. Expect there to be a lot of runs. SRH have won only 2 out of 5 games here in Hyderabad," WV Raman and Shane Watson analysed the pitch.

Head-to-Head

DC and SRH have locked horns with each other in 25 matches in IPL so far. While DC have won 12 games, SRH have emerged victorious 13 times.
