Following their comfortable win over the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on April 6, Gujarat Titans (GT) have climbed up the IPL 2025 points table, moving from the third to the second position. This win marked their third of the season, bringing their total to six points after playing four matches. In contrast, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) continue to struggle at the bottom of the standings, holding onto just two points after five games. While the Hyderabad-based franchise managed to secure a win in their opening match of the season, they have since faced a tough run, suffering four consecutive defeats.

On the other hand, Gujarat Titans (GT) despite starting their campaign with a loss, have staged a strong comeback, now riding a wave of three consecutive wins. Their impressive performance has also boosted their net run rate, which currently stands at a healthy +1.031 after this latest game. As it stands, only Delhi Capitals are positioned ahead of them in the league standings.

Looking ahead, Gujarat Titans will return to their home ground in Ahmedabad for their next encounter, which is scheduled against Rajasthan Royals at the Narendra Modi Stadium on April 9. Meanwhile, Sunrisers Hyderabad will remain in Hyderabad for their upcoming match against the Punjab Kings on April 12.

Following Gujarat Titans' seven-wicket win over Sunrisers Hyderabad, Royal Challengers Bengaluru have slipped down to the third position in the IPL 2025 standings. RCB are set to play their fourth match of the tournament against the Mumbai Indians on April 7 at the Wankhede Stadium.

Despite Gujarat Titans currently holding the second position, Royal Challengers Bengaluru actually possess a superior net run rate of +1.149 compared to GT's +1.031. This means that if the Bengaluru-based franchise manages to secure a victory in their next match, they will likely reclaim the second spot in the standings. In fact, RCB even has a potential path to the top of the table, as the current leaders, Delhi Capitals, have a net run rate of +1.257, which is within reach.

Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians have an opportunity for a leap in the points table. If they manage to defeat Royal Challengers Bengaluru in their upcoming game, MI could potentially jump from their current eighth position all the way up to fourth. Currently, MI has accumulated two points from their first four matches in the IPL 2025 standings.
