Royal Challengers Bengaluru wrapped up their home leg with a win against Gujarat Titans in their IPL 2026 clash on Friday, April 24 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. In the five-wicket victory against the Shubman Gill-led side, Krunal Pandya played a crucial role with the bat, finishing the game with 23 off 12 balls.

Chasing 206 in the second innings, RCB got off to a great start, thanks to Virat Kohli stunning 81 and Devdutt Padikkal's impactful 55. However, GT got success to take a few quick wickets in the death overs, leaving RCB in a crunch situation before Krunal Pandya scored an amazing cameo of 23 runs off 12 deliveries to seal the game on Friday.

Krunal Pandya's match-winning cameo against GT

After the game, Krunal Pandya admitted that the situation was filled with pressure, given the fact that he only batted twice prior to this game.

“There was pressure. Obviously, this was the 7th or 8th match, and before this game, I had played only two innings with the bat. Sometimes, when there’s no continuity, you can suddenly get into a pressure situation," said Krunal to JioHotstar.

 

 

Krunal Pandya eyes India return

Talking further, Krunal cleared his aim to make a comeback in the Indian team saying that it is biggest aspiration to represent his country. However, the left-arm spin all-rounder admitted that he needs to focus on improving his game at present.

"There's nothing bigger than playing in the blue jersey once again. My goal has always been to play for India. But again, what do I have in my control? Consistent performances and how I win games for my team, that’s what I try to focus on," he said.

 

 

Next challenge for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in IPL 2026

After securing a great win against GT, RCB will face Delhi Capitals (DC) in their upcoming game in IPL 2026 on Monday, April 27 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

Currently the Bengaluru-based side sit at the second position in the standings with 10 points in hand after playing seven matches (5 wins and 2 losses) with a strong net run rate of +1.101.
