Delhi Capitals (DC) endured one of the most humiliating collapses in IPL history, becoming the first team to lose six wickets before posting 10 runs on the board. The nightmare began almost immediately after they were sent in to bat, as Bhuvneshwar Kumar dismissed debutant Sahil Parakh for a duck on just the second ball of the innings. By the 2.4-over mark, the Capitals had been reduced to a staggering 7 for 5, marking the earliest point in tournament history at which a team has lost five wickets.

The situation deteriorated rapidly when Josh Hazlewood joined the attack, turning the early pressure into a total disaster. The Australian pacer took control in the second over, stunning KL Rahul and Sameer Rizvi on consecutive deliveries. With three wickets down in a matter of moments, Delhi was suddenly on the brink of total failure, unable to find an answer to the relentless seam attack.

In the third over, Bhuvneshwar Kumar returned to further tighten the screws on the struggling lineup. Attempting to stabilize the innings, Tristan Stubbs was dismissed for 5, followed quickly by Axar Patel, who departed for a duck. The Delhi batters appeared completely overwhelmed by the disciplined movement and consistent pressure, struggling to mount any form of response.
The final blow came in the fourth over when Josh Hazlewood dismissed Nitish Rana for 1, cementing the team's unwanted place in the record books. With six wickets down before the score had even reached double figures, the rapid disintegration of such a star-studded batting lineup left everyone stunned.
