Who is Nishant Sindhu?
Born to state-level boxer Sunil Kumar on April 09, 2004, in Rohtak, Haryana, Sindhu is an all-rounder who is a left-handed batter and a slow left-arm orthodox bowler. He represents Haryana in domestic play, and GT is not the first team that picked him for the IPL, but the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) was the first team that picked him in 2022 after playing a crucial role in India's Under-19 World Cup win, the same year. He spent two seasons with CSK before getting drafted by GT for INR 30 lakh in 2025.
In a 37-match-long T20 career, Sindhu has featured in 33 innings, hitting 763 runs with a strike rate of 139 while averaging 27.25, scoring three fifties and a hundred. In bowling, Sindhu has taken 21 wickets in 27 innings at an average of 21.76 while maintaining an economy of 6.72.
