Rajasthan Royals (RR) once again grabbed attention on social media after sealing the final playoff spot of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 with a crucial victory over Mumbai Indians (MI).
The win not only secured RR’s qualification for the playoffs but also officially knocked Punjab Kings out of the top-four race.
However, it was Rajasthan’s social media response after the game that quickly went viral across the internet.
RR take savage dig at PBKS after playoff qualification
The latest chapter of the entertaining social media rivalry between RR and PBKS traces its roots all the way back to 2014.
Back then, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan had posted a casual tweet directed at Punjab Kings co-owner Preity Zinta asking:
"Zinta’s team won kya?"
What initially looked like a harmless social media post eventually became meme material years later during IPL 2026.
The banter officially began on April 28 when RR defeated PBKS and followed it up with a social media video featuring Donovan Ferreira saying:
"Sorry bhai, aaj nahi."
Days later, when RR lost against Delhi Capitals on May 1 in a game that could have taken them above PBKS in the standings, Punjab Kings cleverly used Rajasthan’s own line against them.
PBKS posted:
"Sorry bhai, aaj nahi."
The social media exchange quickly became one of the most entertaining off-field rivalries of IPL 2026.
However, the final blow came after Rajasthan Royals defeated Mumbai Indians on May 24.
The victory officially confirmed RR’s playoff qualification while simultaneously eliminating PBKS from the tournament.
Soon after the match, Rajasthan Royals posted a clip featuring Arjun Kapoor with a brutal caption:
"Panga na lo."
The post instantly went viral and reignited the already heated social media rivalry between the two franchises.
RR seal playoff spot while PBKS crash out of IPL 2026
Rajasthan Royals booked their place in the IPL 2026 playoffs after defeating Mumbai Indians by 30 runs in their final league-stage fixture.
RR joined Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad in the final four of the tournament.
Meanwhile, Punjab Kings endured a heartbreaking end to their campaign.
After starting the season strongly with six consecutive victories, PBKS completely lost momentum during the second half of the tournament and eventually missed out on playoff qualification.
Their elimination also officially ended any hopes of lifting a maiden IPL title this season.
