The IPL 2025 mega auction in Jeddah saw some astonishing bidding wars as the franchises broke banks over players like Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer. Teams are trying to assemble their squad for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League. The auction saw some surprising calls with even RTM playing a big factor. A total of 72 of 84 players went under the hammer on Day 1 of the auction. A total of 467.95 crores were spent on the opening day. A maximum of 132 players can be sold on day 2.

Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer broke all-time auction records in Jeddah as they became the most expensive players in IPL history. Pant joined LSG and Iyer found his new home in PBKS. However, players like David Warner, and Devdutt Padikkal did not even get a bid for them.
