Jasprit Bumrah visits NCA again ahead of IPL 2025

It was Bumrah's second visit to the NCA within a brief period as he desperately seeks clearance to participate in the upcoming IPL 2025. The eighteenth season of the IPL is scheduled to get underway from March 22, with the defending champions, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), facing Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the opening match at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Reports from Cricbuzz indicate that Jasprit Bumrah experienced some discomfort while bowling during his previous visit to the National Cricket Academy (NCA). This led NCA officials to prescribe specific exercises and schedule a follow-up evaluation of the Indian speedster's progress. Currently, there's a more optimistic atmosphere surrounding Bumrah's condition, with his progress being meticulously tracked at the NCA, and he is hopeful of receiving clearance this time around.

The key factor determining Bumrah's participation in IPL 2025 will be his ability to bowl without any recurrence of discomfort. If he can achieve this, he stands a good chance of being cleared to play. However, a final decision is expected to take approximately a week, suggesting that Bumrah is likely to miss the Mumbai Indians' first two matches of the upcoming tournament.

MI would want Bumrah in their bowling arsenal if they want their IPL 2025 campaign to go smooth. MI will open their IPL 2025 campaign with a clash against Chennai Super Kings on March 23 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.
