Following a dominant 77-run win over Rajasthan Royals (RR) in their 2026 IPL matchup, Gujarat Titans (GT) captain Shubman Gill didn’t hold back on social media.

Taking a playful jab at the opposition on X (formerly Twitter), Gill referenced the Royals' iconic team colors and local heritage, posting, “Pink city, blue result. Khamma Ghani.”
Gill’s individual contribution was nothing short of brilliant, as he played a sparkling knock of 84 runs from just 44 deliveries. By blending elegant strokeplay with aggressive intent, he spearheaded the Titans' charge toward a formidable total of 229/4 after they were put in to bat. His innings, which featured nine boundaries and three sixes, was anchored by a massive 118-run opening partnership with Sai Sudharsan, who provided steady support with a 36-ball 55.

GT take strong step towards playoffs
With this win, GT have significantly bolstered their quest for the IPL 2026 playoffs. This win—the largest in the franchise's history by runs—has provided a vital boost to their Net Run Rate, which swung dramatically from -0.147 to +0.228. Consequently, statistical projections now place the Titans at a 72.52% chance of qualifying for the postseason, with a 38.71% probability of securing a crucial top-two finish.
The Titans' ascent to second place in the standings was fueled by standout individual performances. Shubman Gill led the charge with a commanding 84, supported by a solid 55 from Sai Sudharsan, setting a high bar for the opposition. On the bowling front, Rashid Khan dismantled the Royals' lineup with a superb 4/33, ensuring the Titans maintained total control throughout the match.

Despite the heavy defeat, the Rajasthan Royals still maintain a strong statistical outlook for the remainder of the season.
