England all-rounder Will Jacks is yet to join the squad.

Mumbai Indians (MI) have been missing the services of their star overseas all-rounder in the last two games. England’s Will Jacks had reportedly requested for time off to be with his family after a gruelling T20 World Cup 2026. After the defeat to Rajasthan Royals (RR), MI head coach Mahela Jayawardene is hoping that the in-form all-rounder joins the team ahead of their clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on April 12 at home.

"Will still hasn't joined the squad, we are hoping he will join pretty soon," the head coach said in the post-match press conference.

Pandya wants MI to ‘learn from mistakes’

With a 27-run loss to RR in a rain-curtailed 11 overs per side game, MI slipped to seventh position on the points table as their net run rate (NRR) took a hit.

MI captain Hardik Pandya blamed the bowlers for conceding 150 runs from 11 overs. He hopes that the team learns from the mistake and turns up well for the clash against RCB.

“Just learn from the mistakes. The morning will come tomorrow, the sun will rise. So yeah, just learn from our mistakes and prepare well for the next game," Pandya said in the post-match presentation.

MI’s next opponent in good form

The defending champions RCB have been in fine form. After beating Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), making the run chase over 200 look easy, they set a mammoth total against an out-of-form Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Before taking on MI, RCB will also go up against RR at Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati, on April 10.
