Virat Kohli has his eyes sights set on four big milestones in the clash against GT

RCB will take on GT at the M Chinnaswamy stadium on April 24

Royal Challengers Bengaluru's (RCB) batting juggernaut Virat Kohli is heading into the upcoming IPL 2026 clash against the Titans in exceptional form. Over his last six matches, he has accumulated 247 runs at an impressive average of 49.40 and a blistering strike rate of 157.32. With two half-centuries to his name and a highest score of 69 not out, he continues to demonstrate his dominance. As the IPL’s all-time leading run-scorer, boasting 8,908 runs across 273 matches, Kohli approaches this game with several new milestones within his reach.

A true stalwart of the tournament, Kohli has consistently redefined statistical excellence throughout his career. His ability to produce game-changing knocks and his command over the record books remain unparalleled in the modern era of the game. On April 24, the batting maestro has another opportunity to add to his legendary tally as he looks to achieve further accolades against the Titans.

Kohli 92-run short of '9K' milestone

Kohli currently sits at 8,908 career IPL runs and is on the cusp of becoming the first player in league history to reach the prestigious 9,000-run landmark. Given his remarkable consistency, having scored over 800 runs in four of the last five seasons, this milestone would further solidify his status as the IPL's greatest accumulator.

800 fours loading...for Kohli

In addition to his total runs, Kohli is just one boundary away from reaching an incredible milestone of 800 fours in the IPL. Having already accumulated 799, hitting one more would make him the first batsman in the tournament's history to reach this figure. This record serves as a testament to his surgical precision and his unrivaled ability to pierce the field, a skill he has maintained with 28 fours already in the 2026 season alone.

Kohli to maximise maximums

Kohli is also closing in on significant six-hitting records, both within the IPL and across the broader T20 format. He currently stands at 299 IPL sixes; clearing the ropes just one more time will make him the third player in history to reach the 300-mark, placing him behind only Chris Gayle and Rohit Sharma. Beyond the IPL, Kohli has 443 sixes across all T20 cricket, meaning seven more would take him to 450. Achieving this would make him only the second Indian player, after Rohit Sharma, to reach the milestone.
