Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have dealt a massive blow right ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 which is set to start from March 22. SRH's star Brydon Carse has been ruled out of the IPL 2025 owing to injury. Meanwhile, SRH have announced South Africa star Wiaan Mulder as Brydon Carse's replacement for the upcoming edition of the IPL.

The announcement comes as Brydon Carse continues to recover from a toe injury that initially forced him to withdraw from the Champions Trophy 2025. Notably, Carse's injury occurred during England's opening match against Australia in Lahore, leading England to name Rehan Ahmed as his replacement for that tournament.
With Brydon Carse's recovery still ongoing, SRH has turned to South African all-rounder Wiaan Mulder to bolster their squad.
Mulder will join the team for a fee of INR 75 lakh. He brings with him a wealth of international experience, having played 11 T20Is, 18 Tests, and 25 ODIs. His international career includes 60 wickets and 970 runs, showcasing his capabilities as a valuable all-round contributor.
"Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) picked Wiaan Mulder as a replacement for Brydon Carse for the upcoming edition of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Carse is ruled out of the TATA IPL 2025 due to an injury and his replacement Mulder, who is an all-rounder, will join SRH for INR 75 Lakh," the IPL's statement read.
