Sooryavanshi has expressed he wants to score 200 in T20s.

On May 27, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi made one of the modern greats, Pat Cummins doff his hat after the match-winning 97-run knock in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 Eliminator. Cummins was blown away by Sooryavanshi’s 29-ball 97 that made it incredibly tough for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) to make a comeback in the game. As RR registered a 47-run win to progress to the IPL 2026 Qualifier 2 against Gujarat Titans (GT), Sooryavanshi wrote a three-word post on social media with seven photos, including six from the match.

“Hungry for more,” Sooryavanshi wrote on social media.

As the post suggests, Sooryavanshi wants more after the win over SRH. In the post-match presentation, he had already said that centuries will keep happening but the current focus is on winning the IPL 2026 trophy and ending RR’s wait for the title win.

Legendary players Ravichandran Ashwin, Suresh Raina and Kevin Pietersen replied to Sooryavanshi's post. Pietersen went on to write 'That 200 loading buddy!'.

In a recent interview, Sooryavanshi had said that he doesn't just want to break legendary Chris Gayle's record for highest individual T20 score -- the 175 not out against now-defunct Pune Warriors India. He also wants to become the first T20 double centurion.

"If I play all 20 overs in any game, I can break that 175-run record," Sooryavanshi had said in an interview with Pietersen.

Gayle’s all-time record broken, orange cap in possession

On May 27, Sooryavanshi broke Gayle’s all-time record for most sixes in a single IPL edition. The 15-year-old has 65 sixes in the ongoing season already. He also has the orange cap with 680 runs in IPL 2026 already.

Sooryavanshi ready for another big score?

He will be seen in action on May 29 when RR go up against GT in Qualifier 2 clash. From three innings, he has 168 runs against GT at a strike rate of 233.33. His maiden IPL century came against GT in the previous season.

Sooryavanshi is currently 16th on the list of most runs in a single edition. He may enter top 10 if he crosses the fifty-run mark in Qualifier 2. Currently, the record for most runs in a single edition for an RR batter belongs to Jos Buttler. In IPL 2022, he had scored 863 runs from 17 games.
