The Chennai-based franchise shared a post on social media, confirming that the CSK players will don black armbands, in the memory of Mukesh's mother.
"This one is for Mukesh’s mother. In her memory and in solidarity with Mukesh, we wear black armbands and play with a little more in our hearts today" wrote CSK on X (FKA Twitter).
On Thursday afternoon, the Yellow Army disclosed the news of Mukesh Choudhary's mother's demise.
“The CSK family mourns the passing of Mukesh Choudhary’s mother. We stand with Mukesh and his family, keeping them in our thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time," CSK posted on X.
Mukesh Choudhary left CSK camp
According to the latest reports, the left-arm pacer has left the team's camp to visit his hometown, Bhilwara for his mother's last rites. Mukesh Choudhary is playing for CSK since the 2022 season impressing everyone with his wicket-taking ability in the powerplay.
In the ongoing 2026 season, Mukesh was not included in the line-up, but later got a chance in a game against Sunrisers Hyderabad, after Khaleel Ahmed got ruled out of the tournament because of an injury. In that game Mukesh impressed everyone with a great spell of 2/21, removing Travis Head and Ishan Kishan from the crease. It will be interesting to see how CSK fares against MI after losing a key player.
