New Zealand need 107 run to win the first Test against India.

India batter Sarfaraz Khan who scored 150 runs during the first Test match against New Zealand revealed his plan while batting alongside Rishabh Pant at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Both Pant and Sarfaraz shared a stand of 177 runs before Sarfaraz departed on Southee's ball. Soon after Sarfaraz's wicket, India wicketkeeper batter Pant who was looking promising got an unlucky dismissal on 99 runs. which helped India to score 462 in their second innings, setting New Zealand a target of 107 on day four of the opening Test.

Sarfaraz who was playing his fourth Test match revealed that he was trying to give strike to Pant during left-arm spinners so that he would hit the ball out of the ground.

"Runs start to come from both ends. When the left-arm spinner was bowling, I was trying to give him strike because he would hit it out of the ground. I would just milk the fast bowlers" said Pant in a post-match conference.

Sarfaraz also reckoned that India can win this game if bowlers manage to pick 2-3 early wickets.

"This is not an easy wicket. This game has not gone totally away from us. If we take 2-3 wickets early, then we are in the game" added Sarfaraz.

Sarfaraz revealed his dancing gesture towards Rishabh Pant

Sarfaraz Khan was seen shouting at Rishabh Pant both of them were batting. The incident occurred on the first ball of the 56th over bowled by Matt Henry. Sarfaraz executed a late cut toward a deep backward point, and as Pant turned to take a second run, he didn’t glance at Sarfaraz. Conway, who had the ball, shouted and gestured "no" to Pant. When that didn’t get through, he began jumping near the good-length area at the non-striker’s end to signal his intent.

"Earlier, Rishabh Pant was injured. We wanted to take runs slowly. When I played the late cut, I called for 2. I then realised that he was injured and how could he run. I raised my hand early but he did not look at me. That was the misjudgment and thank god he escaped" Sarfaraz also said.
