India’s Test opener KL Rahul scored second consecutive century in Ranji Trophy 2025-26 knockouts. On Day 1 of the semifinal against Uttarakhand, Rahul made the most of his experience at former Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise, Lucknow Super Giants' (LSG) homeground, Ekana Cricket Stadium.

Rahul and skipper Mayank Agarwal got off to a cautious start against the new ball. In the ninth over, Aditya Rawat was introduced and he got Agarwal caught. The opener scored just five runs from 32 balls.

In Mishra's next over, Padikkal hit a six as well. In the 28th over, Rahul reached his half-century with a boundary off Rawat. He got the milestone from 86 deliveries. In the 32nd over, Padikkal completed his fifty from 65 balls.
Rahul played more aggressively in the second session. In the 52nd over, he got his century from 153 balls. Rahul's father-in-law Sunil Shetty and brother-in-law Ahan Shetty applauded him as he completed his century. A few overs later, Padikkal got to three figures with a six off Jagadeesha Suchith.
Rahul was eventually dismissed in the third session by Rawat. He got out caught and bowled for 141 from 211 deliveries. The opener's knock was studded with 11 fours and five sixes. He shared a 278-run partnership for the second wicket with Padikkal.

This is Rahul’s 25th first-class century. In the Ranji Trophy quarterfinal against Mumbai, he scored 130 in the run chase. Before joining Karnataka for Ranji Trophy, he scored a century in white-ball format as well. Against New Zealand, he scored an unbeaten 112 in a losing cause in Rajkot.
