Left-arm spinner Parth Rekhade picked up a five-wicket haul as Vidarbha defeated Odisha by 100 runs to go on top of Group A in the Ranji Trophy 2025-26 clash at Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Maharashtra
Chasing 345 runs for victory, Odisha were all out for 244 in 84 overs after a strong 100-run opening stand between Swastik Samal (65) and Gourav Choudhury (47).
Rekhade rattled Odisha's batters
Vidarbha now lead the group with 19 points, while Odisha is near the bottom with just one point. Resuming the day at 44 without loss, Odisha’s openers added 56 more runs before Rekhade got the breakthrough in the 24th over, dismissing Choudhury leg before wicket. Samal also fell soon after to Rekhade.
Sandeep Pattnaik made a slow 27 off 105 balls before being trapped in front by Praful Hinge in the 38th over. Skipper Subhranshu Senapati (28) and Govinda Poddar (46) tried to shift the momentum of the game but were unable to convert their starts, and Odisha kept losing wickets.
Rekhade finished with figures of 5/80, while Hinge (3/41) and Nachiket Bhute (1/50) supported well.
Shikhar Mohan’s ton helps Jharkhand draw against Baroda
In Vadodara, opener Shikhar Mohan scored an unbeaten 102 as Jharkhand reached 226 for four in their second innings, forcing a draw against Baroda in the Ranji Trophy.
Jharkhand took three points for their first-innings lead and now stand second in Group A with 18 points. Baroda earned one point and are in fifth place with nine points.
Starting the day at 10 for one, Mohan hit eight fours and two sixes in his 200-ball innings, while Virat Singh added a quick 64 off 78 balls with nine boundaries and a six.
With Jharkhand, who had scored 506 in their first innings, comfortably placed, both captains agreed to end the match.
