Former India ODI skipper Rohit Sharma returned to Vijay Hazare Trophy in style. In his first appearance in India’s domestic One-Day tournament after eight years, Rohit reached his century from just 62 balls. In the clash against Sikkim at Jaipur’s Sawai ManSingh stadium, Rohit entertained the fans in the run chase of 237.

Rohit was not troubled by Sikkim bowlers. He used the powerplay overs well, playing at a T20I-like strike rate. From pull shots, to sweeps off fast bowlers, Rohit was in attacking mode for a better part of his innings. The opener reached his fifty from 28 balls.

Rohit and Angkrish Raghuvanshi shared a 141-run partnership from 118 balls. Raghuvanshi departed before Rohit could reach three figures. He scored 38 runs from 58 balls, including four fours. Ankur Malik broke the partnership in the 20th over. 

This is Rohit's 37th century in List A cricket (including 33 in ODIs). The 38-year-old got his 150 from 91 deliveries.

The last time Rohit played in the Vijay Hazare Trophy was in the semifinal clash against Bihar in 2018.

Rohit made himself available for the Vijay Hazare Trophy ahead of the ODI series against New Zealand which is scheduled to start on January 11, 2026.
