Sharandeep Singh's under-pressure ton

The 22-year-old, who was going through a lean patch, made 115 off 209 balls and helped his team reach 259 for six after a shaky start. Jharkhand’s top order failed to get going on their home ground, with opener Shikhar Mohan and last match’s double-centurion Kumar Kushagra getting out early.

Sharandeep had managed only two single-digit scores against Baroda in the previous game and had just one fifty this season, but he showed great determination to play a mature and much-needed innings. In his 11th first-class match, just days away from turning 23, he hit 16 fours, relying mostly on clean ground strokes.
