Rohit Sharma, a fast bowler from Jammu & Kashmir, is wreaking havoc in the Ranji Trophy with his splendid bowling. Jammu & Kashmir's Rohit Sharma took a brilliant five wickets, running riot on Odisha in their Ranji Trophy match. Thanks to Rohit Sharma's lethal bowling, Odisha's team could only muster a total of 130 runs in their first innings, allowing the Jammu & Kashmir Ranji team to gain a strong foothold in the match.

 

Rohit Sharma's Onslaught Restricts Odisha to 130

 

In a Ranji Trophy Elite Group D match played at Odisha's home ground in Cuttack, the contest was between Odisha and Jammu & Kashmir. Odisha came in to bat first and had established a partnership of 41 runs between openers Shantanu Mishra (28 runs) and Anurag Sarangi. However, Rohit Sharma struck, claiming his first wicket of the day by dismissing Sarangi, who scored 11 runs off 59 balls with one boundary. Following this initial breakthrough, Rohit Sharma didn't stop and went on to claim a five-wicket haul. As a result, the Odisha team was bowled out for 130 runs in 47.2 overs. Rohit Sharma finished with impressive figures of 5 wickets for 12 runs in 13 overs, while Umran Malik and Umar Nazir Mir each took two wickets.

 

Jammu Loses Four Wickets at 45 Runs

 

After bowling out Odisha for 130, the start wasn't smooth for Jammu & Kashmir either, as they had lost four wickets for 45 runs at the time of reporting, in 18 overs of play. For Jammu, Shubham Singh with 18 runs and Fazil Rashid with 2 runs were at the crease. So far in the Ranji Trophy, in their Group D, Jammu's team has drawn both of its matches and is placed seventh in the table of eight teams. Odisha, having played two matches, with one loss and one draw, is also positioned seventh. The team that wins this match will advance further.

He is, in fact, a medium pacer for the Jammu & Kashmir Ranji team. A right-arm bowler, he has been playing cricket for Jammu & Kashmir since 2015. However, his experience isn't extensive. This 29-year-old Rohit Sharma has played 17 first-class matches so far and has taken 29 wickets.
